The program of seminars in Ecotoxicology in the academic year 2022/2023 1. Definition of ecotoxicology. History of the subject 2. Toxicants, toxicokinetics, bioconcentration, bioaccumulation, biodegradation 3. Diseases caused by environmental pollutants (Minamata, Nigata, Itai-itai, etc.) 4. Persistent organic pollutants (POPs). Dioxines. Acid rains. Pesticides. Endocrine disruptors 5. Evaluation of toxicity (acute, chronic, subchronic), reversible and irreversible effects. Exposure. Factors influencing toxicity, combined effects. Dose-response 6. OECD and EPA guidelines for toxicity testing of chemicals in birds and mammals. Credit test I. 7.
