Students are able to examine the animals using inspection, palpation, auscultation, and percussion. Moreover, they are able to analyze laboratory results in relationship to clinical examination. |

1. Methods of restrain, identification, general state, and basic life values. 2. Examination of organ systems. 3. Laboratory work. 4. Individual examination of patiens. |

Course syllabus | |
Aim of the subject. Methods of the clinical examination. Handling with animals. General status of animals. Anamnesis. Examination of breathing and pulse rates, body temperature. Hair and skin examination. Examination of visible mucous membranes and the eye. Lymphatic system. Examination of the upper respiratory pathways. Examination of the lower respiratory pathways. Examination of the cardiovascular system I. Examination of the cardiovascular system II. Examination of the cardiovascular system III (ECG and ultrasound). Examination of digestive system: Feed intake, oral cavity, pharynx, oesophagus. Examination of the abdomen and forestomachs. Examination of the stomach and abomasum. Examination of intestines, and faeces. |
