CONDITIONS FOR COMPLETION OF COURSE | |
In order to pass the course, the student must have active participation in lectures and practical training. The prerequisite for passing the examination is the preparation and defence of a seminar paper on the topic assigned by the supervisor (in the range A-E), which is the result of self-study. The examination is awarded on the basis of an assessment of the knowledge acquired (in the A-E range). | |
Learning outcomes | |
The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of the regulation of feed intake, digestion processes and nutritional management of intermediary metabolism processes in relation to production, health and reproduction in animals. Effect of feed on morphological and functional development of GIT digestive disorders and nutritional prevention of health disorders. Breeding and nutritional disorders, nutritional and metabolic load of the organism, application and overcompensation mechanisms, metabolic and production diseases - mechanism of occurrence and nutritional prevention. |

Brief outline of the course | |
Nutritional and dietetic evaluation of rations. Quality and healthfulness of feeds, nutritional diagnostics in relation to production, reproduction, health and ecological burden on the environment. Phasic nutrition of animals in terms of nutritional saturation of growth and development, level and quality of production, stage of reproduction, climatic and technological effects of housing in relation to species and breed. Phasic nutrition of animals, nutrient intake and concentration, effect on ruminal and intermediary metabolism, nutrient interaction and their metabolic transformation in terms of manifestation of nutritional, production and health burden, nutritional prevention of disorders and formation of productive health of food animals. Application of clinical nutrition principles in the correction of nutritional and metabolic stresses in domestic animals. |
