CONTENTS OF THE STATE EXAM
Through lectures and practical exercises, gain an in-depth knowledge of animal metabolic diseases in the following areas - disorders of protein metabolism, including enzymes; disorders of carbohydrate metabolism; disorders of lipid metabolism with emphasis on increased lipomobilization and imbalance of hormones produced by adipose tissue; disorders of mineral and vitamin metabolism; metabolic diseases in disorders of acid-base homeostasis.
CONDITIONS FOR COMPLETION OF COURSE
Prerequisites: In order to pass the course, the student must have active participation in lectures and practical teaching. The prerequisite for passing the examination is the preparation and defence of a seminar paper on the topic assigned by the supervisor (in the range A-E), which is the result of self-study. The examination is awarded on the basis of an assessment of the knowledge acquired (in the A-E range).
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes are verified by the preparation of a seminar paper, its defence and a final xamination.
Brief outline of the course
The course outline has been developed in order to improve the basic knowledge of metabolic diseases of animals in the following areas - disorders of protein metabolism, including enzymes; disorders of carbohydrate metabolism; disorders of lipid metabolism with emphasis on increased lipomobilization and imbalance of hormones produced by adipose tissue; disorders of mineral and vitamin metabolism; metabolic diseases in disorders of acid-base homeostasis.
