Learning outcomes
The outcome of the study subject is the acquisition of knowledge, practical habits and skills in the diagnosis, therapy and prevention of organ, metabolic and production diseases of farm animals in both theoretical and practical teaching. The content will allow you to gain an overview of the most serious nosological units from the veterinary-health and economic point of view, including their impact on the production of harmless and biologically complete foods and raw materials of animal origin.
Brief outline of the course
internal diseases of individual organ systems – disorders of substance metabolism – production diseases of dairy cows – examination of patients, correct collection and examination of biological material – diagnosis of diseases based on clinical and laboratory findings – deciding on therapeutic actions, application of drugs – individual work with the patient, preparation of the protocol – correct interpretation of laboratory results
Course syllabus
Lectures: 1. The most important diseases of individual organ systems - skin, lymph nodes, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, digestive system, liver, reproductive system, locomotor system, nervous system, mammary gland 2. Significant disorders of substance metabolism - energy, protein, enzymatic, mineral, vitamin, hematological, rumen, urinary, milk, etc. 3. The most significant diseases of the peripartum period in high-production animals - NEB - lipomobilization syndrome, fatty liver syndrome, ketosis, rumen acidosis, hypocalcemia, malignancy dislocations, etc. 4. Puerperal diseases of the reproductive system - fertility disorders 5. Mastitis of dairy cows 6. The most important diseases of small ruminants Practical exercises - patient demonstrations at the clinic
