Podmienky na absolvovanie predmetu: Completion of seminars and clinical practice. The course is completed by a credit, which is awarded based on the evaluation of seminar work.
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to gain theoretical and practical knowledge about the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the male reproductive system, gain and examination of semen, as well as the possibilities and management of artificial insemination of females using progressive methods of assisted reproduction. The result of the study of this subject will be methodical and methodological readiness for the solution of the dissertation in the field of a specific discipline by including diseases of the male reproductive system and the possibilities of artificial insemination of females and their connection with other disciplines..
Brief outline of the course
The syllabus was developed in order to master the basics of andrology and artificial insemination in the following areas:
Anatomy, physiology and endocrinology of males
Andrological examination of the external and internal reproductive organs of males
Infertility and diseases of the male reproductive system
Surgical therapy of male reproductive system abnormalities
Gain, examination and storage of semen in individual species of males
Methods and use of assisted reproduction in andrology
Techniques of artificial insemination of females

1. Significance and current status, perspectives u.i. in the process of reproduction of farm animals.
2. Neurohumoral control of sexual functions in stallions
3. Sexual maturity and sexual reflexes (species differences) – disorders of sexual reflexes
4. Sexual maturity and sexual reflexes (species differences) - classification of neuroconstitutional types of males.
5. Infertility of testicles - sperm morphology, transport, maturation and storage. FROM
6. Infertility of testicles - injuries of males during copulation, bad habits of males, nutrition and infertility of males, hormonal causes of infertility.

2. External examination of the genitals in individual species of male domestic animals

4. Methods of artificial prolapse of the genital organ (bull)
5. Collection and examination of the preputial wash of the bull
6. Preparation and collection of semen from bulls and rams. Macroscopic examination of the ejaculate
7. Microscopic examination of bull and ram ejaculate
8. Determination of sperm density
9. Differential staining of live and dead spermatozoa
10. Determination of sperm resistance and cytochemical reaction to endogenous reductases
11. Preparation of the preparation for morphological examination of spermatozoa (production of coating and staining methods)
