CONDITIONS FOR COMPLETION OF COURSE
In order to pass the course, the student must have active participation in lectures and practical training. The prerequisite for passing the examination is the preparation and defence of a seminar paper on the topic assigned by the supervisor (in the range A-E), which is the result of self-study. The examination is awarded on the basis of an assessment of the knowledge acquired (in the A-E range).
Learning outcomes | |
The aim of the course is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of the regulation of feed intake, digestion processes and nutritional management of metabolic processes in relation to production, health and reproduction in animals. To know the systems for calculating the energy value of feed according to the content of the nutrients analysed, according to the animal species. Evaluate feedstuffs and interpret the results in terms of nutritional and dietetic analysis of feedstuffs. Understand the interaction relationships of feeds and nutrients in terms of their nutritional value and their utility. Analyse and evaluate the effect of dietary intensity and feeding method on the regulation of feed intake and digestion of protein, carbohydrate, fat; their absorption, transformation and utilization of nutrients to promote growth and production. Analysis and evaluation of rumen fermentation and nutrient and energy synthesis - evaluation and management of fermentation processes, GIT eubiosis and its nutritional health and production interactions. |

Brief outline of the course
Analysis and evaluation of biological properties of feedstuffs used for the evaluation of intake, digestibility, energy and protein value of feedstuffs. Analysis and evaluation of the biological properties and quality of feedstuffs and the interactions between nutrition and quality, economic efficiency of livestock production. Analysis and evaluation of production efficiency, which is production in relation to the nutritional costs associated with maintenance requirements, production and loss of body reserves. Analysis and evaluation of the effect of diet intensity and feeding method on the regulation of feed intake and digestion of proteins, carbohydrates, fats; their absorption, transformation and utilization of nutrients to promote growth and production. Nutritional and dietetic evaluation of rations. Quality and healthfulness of feedstuffs, nutritional diagnosis in relation to production, reproduction, health and ecological burden on the environment. Evaluation of metabolic transformation of nutrients and regulation of nutrient redistribution. Nutrient partitioning - a process governed by the genotype of the animal, the stage of development of the animal, the quantity and nutritional value of the feed as well as the environment. |
