CONDITIONS FOR COMPLETION OF COURSE
Flow cytometry and its application in the study of cells, their functions and products. Fluorescence microscopy in the detection of cellular, subcellular and molecular structures. Immunohistochemical methods of studying cells and tissues on paraffin and cryosections. Confocal microscopy in veterinary medicine. Specific cytochemical staining methods. Cell blocking techniques and their applications in veterinary medicine.
Learning outcomes
The graduate of the course will gain knowledge about the histological composition of cells, tissues, their functions and products. Through a combination of investigation methods, he will gain knowledge about changes in the course of disease processes related to the quantity of cells, their morphology, cytokine spectrum, he will know the ways of cell death, metabolic and molecular pathologies, transport of substances, expression of surface, intracellular and intracellular markers, as well as the representation of not only immunocompetent cells, but also mesenchymal or epithelial cells in tissues changed by inflammatory or tumor processes.
