PODMIENKY NA ABSOLVOVANIE PREDMETU
100% participation in practical exercises. One absence from practical training (documented by a doctor) can be excused by the teacher. Successful completion of the continuous study control (the student must obtain at least 51%) - a test in the 13th week of the semester with the value of 100 points and evaluated according to Article 20 point 4 of the Study Regulations of UVLF in Košice on the basics of microbiology, parasitology and immunology.
Výsledky vzdelávania
By completing the course, the student will gain comprehensive knowledge of microbiology, parasitology and immunology with an emphasis on understanding the basic concepts, definitions, interrelationships of organisms and the basics of their diagnostics. The graduate will use the acquired knowledge for professional activity in the Chamber of Veterinary Surgeons of the Slovak Republic as auxiliary staff for private veterinarians in laboratory practice, education, and scientific research.
Stručná osnova predmetu
Within the subject, students will deal with the systematics of microorganisms, mechanisms of microbial pathogenicity, important bacterial, viral or parasitic diseases and especially the possibilities of their diagnosis and correct laboratory practice in conditions where infectious material is processed.
Sylabus predmetu
Syllabus of lectures:
1. Introduction to microbiology, an overview of the systematics of microorganisms. Morphology, structure, reproduction, growth and metabolism of microorganisms.
2. Mechanisms of microbial pathogenicity, sources and spread of infection. Microbial genetics.
