PODMIENKY NA ABSOLVOVANIE PREDMETU | |
Compound assessment: Students deliver six group reports (written assignments) throughout the semester. 5 count for 7% of the total grade and one (on embryology) for 5% of the total grade. Letter grades A-F according to regular Norwegian grading system. At the end of the semester, there will be a written school exam, that counts for 60% of the grade. Letter grades A-F according to regular Norwegian grading system. | |

Knowledge The student: Has knowledge of the microscopic structure of normal organs and systems of mammals Has an overview of the different methods used for tissue preparation and examination Is familiar with the key events in normal embryological development in mammals, birds and amphibians. Skills The student: Can use the light microscope to examine histological glass slides. Can identify and describe, both orally and in writing, using proper academic terminology, the normal structure of the mammalian tissues that comprise the various organs. Can find relevant published information and use it for the interpretation of mammalian tissue sections Can understand and reflect upon the relation between the structure of mammalian tissues and their function. General competence The student: Can collaborate and exchange opinions with fellow students for the preparation of scientific reports. Can communicate results and theories both orally and in writing. |

General histology: Structure and organization of the basic types of tissues; Epithelial, connective and muscle. Special histology: Structure and organization of; Integument, digestive system, immune system, urinary system, reproductive system and circulatory system. Embryology: Spermiogenesis, oogenesis, fertilization, blastogenesis, implantation, placenta and organogenesis. |
