PODMIENKY NA ABSOLVOVANIE PREDMETU
A main condition for successful completion of the subject is active participation in the practices. A student can miss a maximum of three practices per semester, one of which can be missed without compensation, the others must be replaced. As a rule, the form of compensation is the preparation of a paper in the form of a literary review from the given missed area.
The exam is written and awarded based on the assessment of acquired knowledge (in the range of A-E).
Výsledky vzdelávania
Graduation of the subject provides knowledge at specialist level. A student will be able to determine the stage of the estrous cycle, to detect irregularities and provide breeders the possibility to solve them by using exogenous hormones controlling endogenous mechanisms.
Stručná osnova predmetu
The subject provides theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge about hormones influencing reproductive functions of domestic animals. A student at the cellular level will understand the mechanisms controlling and affecting the reproductive functions of dogs and cats. In the practical part of the program is focused on folliculogenesis, luteal phase of bitches’ oestrus cycle, determine the stage of the estrous cycle of females and consequently its use in mating and the use of hormones in the regulation of the estrous cycle, induction of parturition, lactation and in resolving reproductive disorders.

2.Folliculogenesis in the bitch. Luteal phase in the bitch
3.Extra - pituitary gonadotropins. Reproductive cycle in the domestic bitch
4.Pharmacological control of the oestrous cycle. Pseudopregnancy in the bitch
5.Unwanted mating and pregnancy termination. Management of the mating in the dogs
6.Irregularity of the oestrous cycle in the bitch
7.Endocrinology of parturition. Endocrinology of lactation
8.Endocrine control of the cat's estrous cycle
9.Folliculogenesis in the queens. Pseudopregnancy in the queens
10.Clinical and endocrinological status of pyometra. Restoration of the oestrous cycle of bitch after anoestrus
11.Reproductive function of dogs and tomcats
12.Endocrinological diagnosis of cryptorchidism
13.Clinical and endocrinological status of testicular tumours
