By completing the course, the student will gain knowledge about reptile medicine. In addition, he will have an overview of the breeding conditions, facilities and welfare of reptiles in captivity. Each graduate will undergo training in the safe handling of reptiles and collection of biological material. In the pre-clinical part, they will get information about the anatomy and physiology of reptiles and terrarium animals. Nutritional, infectious and parasitic and reproductive diseases will be presented in the clinical part. A separate section is devoted to surgery and imaging methods used in reptile medicine. |

The curriculum of practical exercises and lectures focuses on clinical practice in reptile medicine. Individual parts are focused on breeding and breeding conditions. The following is a section devoted to the anatomy and physiology of reptiles. Infectious diseases are mainly focused on viral, bacterial and parasitic agents. Gaining practical experience with handling, sampling and sexing of reptiles. Diagnosis and therapy of metabolic and reproductive problems. Imaging methods and basic surgical procedures. |

Topic The safety to be followed during lessons, while perfoming clinical examinations. General introduction, zoological classification, specifications, distribution, breeding, and breeding requirements for most pet errors (terrarium). Anatomy and physiology of reptiles, autopsy, assess pathological changes. Handling reptiles, security, application of medicines, samples and biological material. Drugs used in reptiles , dose calculations, pharmacokinetics, anesthesia, patient care and quarantine procedures . Clinical examination of the patient - an approach possible, anamnestic protocol, imaging methods - X-ray, USG, endoscopy. Infectious and parasitic diseases - blood sampling and coprology. Skin and nervous system - Shedding disorders, diseases of eye, ear abscess in turtles. Diseases of circulatory and respiratory system. Diseases of the digestive system and secretory organs Nutrition, specific food demands, metabolic diseases, disbalances of vitamins and minerals Basic surgical procedures, emergency and traumatology.
