Active presence on practical exercises, successful handling of the credit test (min. 51%), presentation and advocacy of semester work. Successful handling of final exam with valuation degree A= 91 - 100% B = 81 - 90% C = 71 - 80% D = 61 - 70% E = 51 - 60% Fx = less than 51%.
Výsledky vzdelávania
Students will acquire theoretical knowledge and practical experience of learning pet breeds (dogs; cats; horses; small mammals – rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets; reptiles – lizards, snakes, turtles; birds – exotic birds, pigeons, ornamental poultry) and their breeding.
The student acquires knowledge about the importance of animal husbandry, their domestication, selection and breeding, as well as the use and focus of individual breeds. Within the framework of general animal husbandry, he will gain insight and experience in fixing, handling, weighing and measuring of animals. They will familiarize themselves with the mandatory labelling of individual livestock species. He will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in exterior evaluation as well as active participation in the assessment at exhibitions. At the same time, he gets an overview of the use, utility types and breeding categories of species of companion animals. Within the framework of special zootechnics, he will get acquainted with the characteristics and use of individual breeds of animals.

Dogs: organisation of dog breeding with emphasis on FCI classification, description of dog breeds, cynological organisations and events, identification of dogs, evaluation of the exterior of dogs, breeding and location of dogs.
Horses: breeding characteristics of horses, assessment of shape characteristics, identification of horses, colour of the coat, innate and acquired equine badges, breeding, and organizations.
Cats: cat breeding, cat breeding organization, cat breeds, cat breeding and placement.
Small mammals (rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets): breeding characteristics of individual species, their breeding, breeding, organizations governing their breeding, identification.
Reptiles (turtles, lizards, snakes): breeding characteristics of individual species, their breeding, organizations governing their breeding, identification.
Birds (pigeons, exotic, ornamental birds): breeding characteristics of individual species, their breeding, breeding, organisations governing their breeding, identification.

Podmienky na absolvovanie predmetu
Continuous assessment:
In order to successfully complete the subject, the student must participate in exercises and lectures in accordance with the study rules, undergo one credit tests in the semester with an assessment of at least 51%, presentation and advocacy of semester work. The correction of credit test can be repeated 2 times.
Conditions for completion of course:
Active presence on practical exercises, successful handling of the credit test (min. 51%), presentation and advocacy of semester work. Successful handling of final exam with valuation degree A= 91 - 100% B = 81 - 90% C = 71 - 80% D = 61 - 70% E = 51 - 60% Fx = less than 51%.
Final assessment:
Subject finished by final exam consist from three parts.
1. final test (30 questions) - min. 51 %
2. identification of breeds (20 pictures) - min. 51 %
3. oral answer (1 question) - min. 51%
Final result (degree) will be average result from all individual parts
A= 91 - 100% B = 81 - 90% C = 71 - 80% D = 61 - 70% E = 51 - 60% Fx = less than 51%.
