PODMIENKY NA ABSOLVOVANIE PREDMETU
In order to pass the course, the student must have active participation in lectures and practical training. The prerequisite for passing the examination is the preparation and defence of a seminar paper on a topic assigned by the supervisor (in the range A-E), which is the result of self-study. The examination is awarded on the basis of an assessment of the knowledge acquired (in the A-E range).
Výsledky vzdelávania
By completing the course the student will gain knowledge at the molecular level in relation to the topic of his/her dissertation in the field of veterinary obstetrics and gynaecology.
Stručná osnova predmetu
Disorders of carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism in pregnant and lactating females (hypoglycaemia, pregnancy toxaemia, lactational ketosis, A/G quotient) and their clinical and biochemical diagnosis; disorders of carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism in newborn pups (hypoglycaemia in piglets, postnatal anaemia) and their clinical and biochemical diagnosis; disorders of mineral metabolism in pregnant and lactating females (milk fever) and their clinical and biochemical diagnosis; hormones of hypothalamic-pituitary origin (gonadoliberin, luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, prolactin, oxytocin) and their relation to the function of the reproductive apparatus of males and females at the molecular level; the influence of thyroid hormones on reproductive indices - fertility, pregnancy, ovulation; clinical reproductive endocrinology - proteohormones (GnRH, FSH, LH, oxytocin, PMSG, eCG), steroid hormones (estradiol, progesterone, testosterone), prostaglandins and the possibilities of their determination; clinical and biochemical diagnostics of tumour diseases of the male and female reproductive apparatus (oncomarkers).
