PODMIENKY NA ABSOLVOVANIE PREDMETU
Attendance at lectures 80 %. Attendance at seminars/practical lessons 100 %. Elaboration of the seminar thesis and its presentation, oral consultations on the topic - the evaluation of the seminar thesis must be in the scale A-E (evaluation according to Article 20 point 4 of the Study Regulations of UVLF in Košice). The form of teaching is full-time present and distance, in the form of block practical seminars/lessons (13 h) and block lectures (13 h). Of which 80 % self-study.
Výsledky vzdelávania
The graduate of the helminthology course in terms of theoretical and practical skills will be able to master the basic scientific methods of helminth research, which will be able to creatively apply and develop in experimental parasitology. By completing the course, the student will have a detailed overview of all major classes of helminths. It will provide detailed information on accurate species diagnosis of helminths according to morphological characteristics and methods of obtaining samples from animals and the environment. The student will gain practical skills in the preparation of macro and micro specimens of parasitic worms. By completing the course, the student will have a detailed overview of zoonotic worms.

1. Natural focalness of diseases, zoonoses, routes of transmission of causative agents, epizootology and epidemiology of parasitoses.
2. Characteristics, morphology, life cycles, reproduction and systematics of helminths.
3. Abiotic factors and their influence on the spread of helminths.
4. Biotic and anthropogenic factors on the spread of helminths.
5. Biodiversity of blood helminths.
6. Biodiversity of flukes and tapeworms.
7. Biodiversity of nematodes.
8. Tissue parasitoses (trichinellosis, filariasis).
9. Helminthosis of ruminants.
10. Helminthosis of horses and pigs.
11. Helminthosis of carnivores.
12. Helminthosis of birds.
13. Helminthosis of rodents, lagomorphs and reptiles.

Elaboration of the seminar thesis and its presentation. Evaluation in scale A-E.
