PODMIENKY NA ABSOLVOVANIE PREDMETU
The basic condition for passing the course is the completion of the full professional teaching program in both the theoretical and practical parts. The teaching will be organized in a block format. In order to be awarded credit, it is necessary to submit a seminar work in the prescribed scope. In the last week, her defense will take place in the form of a presentation. This will be evaluated according to the rules of the Study Regulations of UVLF in Košice.
Výsledky vzdelávania
After completing the subject General Parasitology, participants will consolidate and expand their knowledge of the basic areas of parasitology. The goal is to understand the interrelationships of organisms and forms of parasitism, ecology, specificity, geographic distribution and immunobiology of parasitic organisms. In addition, students will gain knowledge about methods of clinical and laboratory diagnostics, methods of prevention and principles of therapy of parasitosis. After completing the subject, the student will be able to continue studying parasitology in other subjects. He will use the knowledge in his subsequent specialization, according to the focus of his doctoral thesis.
Stručná osnova predmetu
The subject General parasitology explains basic concepts in parasitology such as the specificity and pathogenicity of parasites. The epizootology of parasitic diseases is important. It explains the ways in which parasites spread in the environment, the natural focus, etc. Immunobiology is aimed at understanding the basic principles of host defense mechanisms during parasitic infections. It also includes an explanation of the basics of diagnosis, principles of treatment and prevention.
Sylabus predmetu
Topics of the theoretical part: 1. Definition of parasitology as a biological science, types of mutual relations of organisms and the emergence of parasitism. 2. Parasite and parasitism, Forms of parasitism. 3. The parasite and its host, Ecology and ecological parasitology. 4. Parasitogeography, Zoonoses and natural foci of parasitoses and transmissible diseases. 5. Specificity and pathogenicity of parasites. 6. Immunobiology and defense mechanisms of host organisms. 7.
