PODMIENKY NA ABSOLVOVANIE PREDMETU
In order to pass the course, the student must have active participation in lectures and practical training. The prerequisite for passing the examination is the preparation and defence of a seminar paper on the topic assigned by the supervisor (in the range A-E), which is the result of self-study. The examination is awarded on the basis of an assessment of the knowledge acquired (in the A-E range).
Výsledky vzdelávania
The graduate of the course will acquire knowledge on selected infectious diseases of animals; epidemiological and epidemiological significance of diseases with zoonotic potential; the role of biodiversity in the spread of infectious diseases; methods of clinical and laboratory diagnosis; strategies and interdisciplinary collaboration; in the prevention and control of infectious diseases, respecting the principle of One Health.

Evolution of infectious diseases; epidemiological and epidemiological significance of infectious diseases in animals; animal vs. human as a source of infectious diseases. Animal infectious diseases in intensive farming systems. Infectious animal diseases in extensive animal farms. Infectious animal diseases of wild animals. The role of biodiversity in the spread of infectious animal diseases. Infectious animal diseases and international trade. The role of international organisations in the protection of animal and human health. Interdisciplinary collaboration - one health - one path to success. Specifics of clinical and laboratory diagnosis of selected groups of infectious diseases. Strategies for prevention and control of infectious diseases in animals (active and passive monitoring, surveillance).
