Content prerequisite: Student will be asked to perform sampling of exotic and puoltry patients for haematological,biochemistry cytology and parasitological examinations.together with veterinarian on dutie disect presented cases and prepare medical and post mortem protocols. Assist veterinarian on duty during tretament and surgical procedures. Continuous assessment: 1.Each semester student must proove the presence on minimum required hours on practice by signatures in Diary and in Book of presence in ambulance. 2.Report of minimum 2 clinical case of exotics and 2 poultry. 3.Prooved presence on minimum 2 surgical procedure. Final assessment: Each student has to fulfill 30 hours of clinical practice at the Clinic of birds and exotic animals, this duty should be divided in 4., 5. and 6. year of study as follows: - minimum 15 hs in winter semester 50% - minimum 15 hs in spring semester 50% In year 2011/2012 all 30 hours will be practised in Summer semester organized at the Clinic of birds and exotic animals. Students have to pass clinical practice before entering state block course from State examination: Diseases of poultry, exotic and wild animals. Registration for the clinical practice 1. Students have to sign up for clinical practice into the copy-book, available at the Clinic examination room. Maximum 4 students for morning or afternoon section 9,00-12,00 and 13,00-15,00. 2. There is possibility to sign up for programmed surgical procedures on board near the ambulance, maximum 4 students Clinical practice registration, evidence The clinical practice hour count is recorded into the presence list at the clinic and at the same time into the diary-book of each student. Evidence is done by veterinarian on duty who accredits the number of clinical hours by stamp and signature. Duties of students at clinical practice Every student has to pass the practice at the ambulance of first contact (clinical examination of birds small mammals and exotic animals, animal restraint, drug administration, etc.) . In case of hospitalized patient, student is taking care on its treatment under the doctor on service or dispensary vet guidance. At the same time, student is keeping records on performed /passed procedures, in his/her note-book/ record book/diary). Each student has to pass 2 surgical procedure (castration, endoscopic examination, of birds, teeth correction, etc.) during his/her clinical practice. Vetrinarian on a duty will confirm to students diary the presence during the procedure, confirmation will be by its signature and stamp. 6. Each students have to prepare a case report protocol during the practice. They can select patient or a clinical case. Cases can be dedicated also by the teacher-veterinarian on duty during the practice 2 case reports of exotic animals (birds, small mammals and reptiles) and 2 case reports on poultry . Case report must include anamnestic data, clinical findings, examination reports in case of mortality a pathological report, suspected and differential diagnoses. Report must be signed and stamped by the veterinarian who was treating the case.
